Palish medium red with a hint of amber. Inviting scents of strawberry, tobacco, dried rose, menthol and white pepper. Juicy, youthful, harmonious village wine with red fruit flavors complicated by red rose and saline soil tones. Lovely precision and delicacy here. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and sneaky length.

Cask sample. Light cherry. Pretty, strawberry-fruited, more like tinned strawberry or Strawberry Mivvi ice cream, if anyone remembers those. That same character on the palate. Sweet and pretty with very gentle tannins. Would not have put this in Morey if I had tasted it blind. (JH)
Palish bright red. Lively scents of strawberry, cranberry, clove, cinnamon and earth, plus hints of darker fruits. Juicy and firmly built, conveying a subtle suggestion of saline minerality. A rather elegant, salty style of Morey-Saint-Denis, finishing with good subtle length and firm tannins that avoid dryness.

Domaine Georges Lignier has a long history stretching back to the 20th century. Georges – a cousin to Hubert Lignier – set out to establish the finest and most important domaine in Morey-Saint-Denis.
