Aged for 10 to 12 months in 100% new oak barrels. Delicious black fruit with a touch of herby aromatic complexity on the nose. Fully loaded aromatic lift. Fine but chewy tannic texture. The big aromatic push of the nose perhaps fades a little too swiftly on the palate but all the same, there is a lot to enjoy here. (RH)
This is a phenomenal wine with such depth and intensity in terms of aromas of black cherries, wet earth and orange peel. It's like looking over the edge of a cliff it's so deep. Full body, perfect tannin tension and resounding purity. It goes on for minutes on the palate with the dark fruit and creamy mineral character. Only shame is that only 100 cases were made! The Latour family has been growing vines in Burgundy since at least 1731. Their négociant business – today one of the region’s biggest names – was founded in 1797. Still family-owned today, the company owns 48 hectares of vines, 27 of which are Grand Cru, as well as its own cooperage.
