Very dark garnet. Very direct and sinewy with some fresh fruit on the mid palate. Just a little riper than usual and, at the moment, with some tannins making their presence felt on the finish. (JR)

(from 50+ year old vines in Charmes proper that abut Griotte). This is also very ripe with plenty of earth, forest floor and game nuances adding breadth to the once again liqueur-like aromas of black raspberry. The rich, full-bodied and concentrated broad-shouldered flavors coat the palate with dry extract on the structured, serious and notably firm finale. Patience will definitely be required here.
