Punteggio 90-92/100 · Da bere 2019-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

The 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru was the only cru to display just a little reduction on the nose, slightly occluding the black fruit underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, grippy tannin. I just find this Clos Vougeot rather brawny and missing the grace of the Echézeaux on the finish.

Three casks from three different spots. One from the bottom and two from next to the château. Very dark and a relatively hot site. Something quite animal on the nose. A hint of blue cheese. Grainy tannins on the end. Very complex. (JR)

(from the upper part of the Clos): Healthy dark red with ruby tones. Brooding aromas of black cherry, violet and crushed rock. In a powerful, firmly structured style; almost medicinal compared to Fourrier's estate wines. Highly concentrated but I'm not sure I would identify this distinctly austere wine blind as coming from Fourrier. Finishes very long, with a serious tannc spine. A wine like this is almost sure to close down in the bottle.

(from Petit Maupertui). A ripe but agreeably fresh nose offers up pretty and layered notes of red and dark currant, earth and humus scents. There is a lovely sense of energy and detail to the tautly muscular big-bodied flavors that deliver both better depth and length on the youthfully austere and markedly serious finish. Patience.
