Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2020-2035, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin Aux Etelois (from a triangle of vines nestled between Griotte-Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin but classified as merely Gevrey-Chambertin AOC) bursts with notes of Griotte cherry, strawberry, wood smoke and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with more tension and chalky grip than the Les Jeunes Rois, despite its velvety attack, and a deep core of crunchy fruit.

A top note of herbal tea is present on the otherwise earthy and brooding nose of red currant and dark raspberry. The supple, round and energetic medium weight flavors also possess evident minerality on the refreshing and inviting finale. This is certainly pretty and elegant but it’s on the lighter side though this is certainly not to suggest that it’s dilute. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com

Domaine Duroche

Domaine Duroché has, under Pierre Duroché, become one of the most sought-out and respected wine domaines in Gevrey-Chambertin. The wines are delicate and detailed, yet with old-vine intensity, a clear sense of place and style – and it’s easy to see why they’ve rapidly become so in-demand.
