Note di degustazione
The 2015 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru comes from the lieu-dit La Terre Blanche. Despite the reduction there was better focus and fruit concentration here compared directly with the Echézeaux that preceded it. The palate is medium-bodied fine tannin, a crisp line of acidity, quite bold black and blue fruit with a grippy finish. It lacks the finesse and purity of the top Bonnes-Mares that I tasted, although there is a sense of boldness here that some might appreciate more than I.

(from vines on the Chambolle side of the appellation): Full ruby-red. Musky aromas of plum, black cherry, spices and wild herbs. Concentrated, firmly structured wine with a a restrained sweetness; in fact, this is quite closed in on itself today, conveying notes of mint, pepper and minerals. Made in a rather tannic style, this wine will need time in bottle to expand and to gain in sweetness. I'm not sure I would have guessed 2015!
(from terres blanches or the white soil portion of the vineyard). There is lovely layering to the spicy red currant, floral and softly wooded nose. I very much like the freshness and sense of underlying tension to the full-bodied, powerful and dense flavors that possess a sleek mouth feel before terminating in a firm but not really austere finale that offers excellent length.
