Punteggio 96/100 · Da bere 2022-2037, Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2017

The 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is straight up gorgeous. Possessing lighter ruby color as well as a huge perfume of framboise, cured meats, dried flowers, smoky oak, and exotic spices/incense, this beauty packs serious richness and depth on the palate and has building tannin, beautifully integrated acidity, an opulent texture and thrilling length. It’s a large scaled 2015 that never puts a foot wrong, offers beautiful complexity, and has an underlying elegance that will allow it to age gracefully for two decades or more. Bravo to Olivier Bernstein and consultant Claude Gros!

100% new oak. Just a hint of reduction. Very juicy and sweet within a noticeable framework. Good definition and drive. Slightly drying on the end at the moment. Lip smacking. (JR)

Punteggio 92-95/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Nov 2016

Dark red with ruby tones. Reduced aromas of black cherry, licorice and wild herbs. Then wonderfully silky yet also utterly primary in the mouth, offering high-pitched black cherry and herb flavors and finishing with substantial granular tannins. Almost austere but not exactly hard, even if it's rather inexpressive today. But this wine from 80-year-old vines has the material and balance to make an outstanding bottle. Bernstein describes these vines as "in the middle of the Clos on its south side, not far from Echézeaux."

A brooding, ripe and almost mute nose only grudgingly offers up its aromas of various dark berries, earth and sauvage wisps. There is once again exceptionally good richness and volume to the full-bodied, mouth coating and powerful broad-shouldered flavors that deliver good if not excellent length on the noticeably warm and firm finish. This robust and imposing effort should benefit from extended cellaring because even with the warm it’s clear that the tannins are fully mature. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
