Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2020-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux is beautiful, wafting from the glass with notes of wild blueberries, blackberries, rose petal and wood smoke, elegantly framed by new oak. On the palate, the wine is supple, expansive and quite generous and gourmand in style, its tannins concealed by an ample core of fruit. Bachelet observes that this parcel, located between Mazis-Chambertin and Fonteny, possesses clay-rich soils that tend to give muscular, virile wines. To temper that tendency, he does few punch downs (a practice he started in 2014) and finds the results more elegant—a contention it would be difficult to dispute.

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux has a very precise bouquet: cranberry, wild strawberry and cold slate aromas that feel very focused...aromas with intent! The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a crisp line of acidity, a mixture of red and black fruit here infused with blood orange and tangy Seville orange marmalade towards a feisty finish. There is superb length here. It is a really wonderful Les Corbeaux for long-term ageing.

Punteggio 91-93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Dec 2016

Bright medium red. Inviting aromas of raspberry and cherry are a bit less masculine than usual for this premier cru from clay-rich soil. The red fruit flavors are lifted by a juicy hint of purple flowers. Not a particularly fleshy wine but the energetic finish is pure and very long. Bachelet reduced the pigeage for this cuvée in order to counter the wine's tendency toward virile minerality and black fruits.

Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2025-2045, Jancis Robinson MW, Nov 2016

Vines mainly planted in the 1920s. Cool, clay spot next to Mazis and Chambertin so usually a bit closed. Very fresh and accessible. Very readable and charming. The friendly side of Gevrey! Nicely energetic. Very long. (JR)
