Note di degustazione
The 2014 Les Petit Haut Lafitte has an attractive blackberry, cedar and black olive-scented bouquet that unfolds nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, well balanced with quite a saline, marine-influenced finish that lends this character. Enjoy this well-crafted Pessac-Léognan over the next five or six years.

The 2014 Le Petit Haut Lafitte is dark and brooding, but the tannins are nicely tamed, which gives the wine a striking sense of proportion. Graphite, game, smoke, lavender and grilled herb notes abound. All of the signatures of this site come through nicely in an accessible, midweight wine that will drink well with minimal cellaring. The blend is 60 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 40 % Merlot.
Graphite, dark stone fruits, smoke, iron, tar, leather and incense are some of the notes that emerge from the 2014 Le Petit Haut Lafitte. Cabernet Sauvignon takes the leading role in a gorgeous second wine that captures the essence of this great site. A real sense of gravitas informs the powerful, vertical finish. This is another gorgeous showing from the team at Smith Haut Lafitte. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot.
80% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Sémillon. So high in acidity that it’s difficult to see the Sémillon although the texture on the palate is quite rich. A pretty impressive second wine. (JR)
