Note di degustazione
The 2015 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru offers up a beautifully immediate bouquet of sweet red and black fruit and fruit preserve, licorice and flowers, with little hint of the tertiary complexity to come with bottle age. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, supple and expansive, with a lavish attack, good concentration and depth, sappy acids and velvety tannins that caress the palate. A seductive Charmes.

Good dark. Black raspberry and a suggestion of musky torrefaction on the very ripe nose. Offers more energy in the mouth than the nose suggests, but this is still a very ripe, chocolatey, savory wine and not especially expressive today; I don't find the floral quality shown by the young 2016. Finishes concentrated, backward and long, with brooding notes of licorice and earth. This wine appears to be dominated by its Mazoyères side and will require patience.
A bit less distinct than the Échezeaux on the nose. Sweet and round and a bit easy with fine tannins on the end. Quite low key on the end. (JR)
