Punteggio 87/100 · Da bere 2025-2028, Neal Martin, Feb 2025

The 2015 Château de Pez has a very austere nose with vestiges of red fruit mixed with gravel and tobacco, though its shortcomings are made clear by direct comparison with its Saint-Estèphe peers. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly furry tannins. This is simple but with an agreeable, meaty, soft landing on the finish. Drink it now. Tasted at the 2015 Ten-Year-On tasting at Bordeaux Index.

Good quality, lovely juice and freshness, enjoyable with grip, delicate slow build, slate tannins, well textured and carefully extracted blueberry, damson and smoked earth. Nicolas Glumineau director.

Punteggio 16/20 · Da bere 2028-2040, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2021

Fermentation in traditional oak vats for 22–30 days before blending and transfer to oak barrels (40% new, 40% second-use and 20% third-use) for 16–18 months’ ageing, racked every three months. Bright crimson. Rather tough and austere still, though certainly classic. Just a little weedy on the mid palate. Serviceable and worth hanging on to. (JR)

The 2015 de Pez has a fresh raspberry and crushed strawberry scented bouquet, slightly savory in style with tarry notes emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a little chewy in texture, simple and lacking a bit of complexity toward the finish. This ought to be better. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.
