Embodying Champagne in stunningly expressive form, this single plot of pinot noir has a complex spicy-red-cherry and raspberry nose with plenty of rose-like fragrances to boot. The palate has loads of flesh and those beautifully pure pinot noir red-cherry-fruit flavors. The tannins are a huge feature here: Long and supple they swirl fleshy and with amazing length. The 2009 Dizy-Terres Rouges Rosé is an unusual Champagne for Jacquesson in that is the first time this wine was bottled with no dosage. Crushed rose petal, tobacco, anise and star anise are all super-expressive, but the non-dosage style results in a powerful, almost tannic Rosé endowed with considerable structure and intensity. Readers should expect an intense Rosé that will offer its best drinking at the dinner table. Hints of crushed rose petal, tobacco, and star anise add the closing shades of nuance.
