The 2015 Le Dragon de Quintus has an autumnal bouquet with brambly red fruit, horse chestnut and smoky scents. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins. This is savory in style with an almost Pessac-like, graphite-infused finish. I would drink this sooner rather than later.

Vivid ripe berry fruit character with plenty of toasted cumin spice, bitter orange rind kick, enjoyable, flash of heat, supple tannins, ready to drink. 38hl/h yield 33% new oak.
Tasted blind. Mid crimson. Gentle, curranty nose. Neat with some freshness. Appetising and unadorned. 21st-century style. No compelling flavours yet but it’s correct. A bit drying on the end. Seemed on the verge of oxidation when I went back to it though. (JR)

Ch. Quintus is the flagship Saint-Emilion estate of Domaine Clarence Dillon (owners of Ch. Haut-Brion and Ch. la Mission Haut-Brion). Following the purchase of Ch. Tertre Daugay in 2011 and Ch. l’Arrosée in 2013, the two were merged to form Ch. Quintus. The first vintage of the wine was 2011.
