Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2025-2042, Neal Martin, Feb 2025

The 2015 Latour à Pomerol has an open-knit bouquet with dark berry fruit, cola, leather and light undergrowth scents. It's perhaps a little more advanced than I was expecting but still pleasurable. The palate is medium-bodied and fresher than the aromatics suggest, with fine-boned tannins. Silky smooth in texture, savory red fruit hints are interlaced with cumin and gamey notes. It gently fans out on the finish, completing a delicious Pomerol. Tasted at the 2015 Ten-Year-On tasting at Bordeaux Index.

Fleshy black fruits, smoked cumin, turmeric and white pepper spice, even an exotic dash of fragrant incense. There is flesh here, full-bodied through the mid palate and still with grip and Pomerol signature, just a flash of heat showing the fingerprint of vintage. In its drinking window at the ten year point.

The 2015 Latour à Pomerol is fabulous. Super-ripe red cherry, mint, crushed herbs, licorice and tobacco are all woven together in a fabric of pure and total class as this powerful, explosive Pomerol shows off its arresting beauty. As gorgeous as the 2015 is today, it also is going to need at least a number of years in bottle to be at its very best. The fusion of power and sensuality makes for a compelling Pomerol that is going to drink well for several decades. The 2015 has much to say, all it needs is time.
