Note di degustazione
The 2015 Haut-Marbuzet has turned out very well, offering up aromas of dark berries, baking chocolate, sweet spices and smoke, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping palate that's framed by supple, powdery tannins. Seamless and charming and already nicely integrated, this rather precocious vintage can already be approached with pleasure, even if it has two decades' evolution ahead of it.

The 2015 Haut-Marbuzet has a ripe and well defined bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and undergrowth scents, quite focused with a light marine influence. It does not convey the usual sumptuousness of this cru . The palate is medium-bodied with good grip, quite structured and saline with a rather abrupt finish that leaves feeling shortchanged. I have long been a fan of this Saint-Estèphe that always has a singular style, so I find this to be a misstep. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.
Tasted blind. Dark crimson. Heady hedgerow aromas. Rather pinched on the end. Austere. (JR)
