Note di degustazione
A luscious, richly balanced wine with plenty of blackberry and raspberry fruit, muscular still at 8 years old but beginning to soften as the limestone terroir takes the upper hand. Finely placed tannic hold, a twist of salinity on the finish balancing out the cocoa bean and grilled cedar notes. The final night of the Mentor Week 2023 was held at Bellefont-Belcier, and it was without a doubt one of the highlights of the year.

Very concentrated colour. A bit richer on the nose than the 2016 with some slightly obvious sweetness, less refreshment and more obvious tannins. A different, slightly more 20th-century style. (JR)
Powerful, dense and explosive, with notable thrust to the red cherry, plum, leather and licorice flavors, the dramatic, full-throttle 2015 Bellefont-Belcier is every bit as impressive as it was from barrel. Dark red cherry, mocha, new leather and spice build into the racy, voluptuous finish. The tannins need time to soften, but all the elements are in the right place. In a word: terrific.
