2013 Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes

Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes had a very reduced bouquet making it difficult to ascertain at the moment. It feels broody and sultry. The palate is medium-bodied with hard tannin, masculine and firm, lacking Chambolle's energy and corpulence on the slightly dour finish. I have tasted much better from Rion in 2013 although I suspect there are better bottles out there. Tasted September 2016.
