Punteggio 96/100 · Da bere 2016-2022, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Apr 2016

The 2013 Las Lamas follows the path of the superb 2012, as in the cooler years this warmer vineyard behaves well and has maybe a little more margin for harvesting, while in a warmer vintage the harvest window is quite short. This feels a little like a hypothetical blend of Corullón and Moncerbal, with the consistency of the Corullón and the perfume and minerality of the Moncerbal. It always has an exuberant touch that sometimes makes me think of malt intermixed with some violets. This is both powerful and light. 2,456 bottles produced.

Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2020-2026, Josh Raynolds, Jan 2016

Bright violet color. Ripe red fruit, incense and floral oils on the explosively perfumed nose. Pliant and sweet, offering juicy, deeply pitched raspberry and cherry compote flavors complicated by licorice and bitter chocolate nuances. Decidedly elegant for its power, with fine-grained tannins coming on late to add grip to a strikingly long spice- and smoke-accented finish.

Steep vineyard, averaging between 90 and 120 years old. Some white grapes are inter-planted – Doña Blanca and Godello. Leathery and rich, without being at all processed. Beautiful rose petal and violet character. Really exemplary. Shows the full potential of the region. (RH)
