Bright medium red; not hugely saturated. Slightly high-toned, ineffable scents of raspberry, Oriental spices, red licorice and white flowers. The sweet, pliant palate boasts superb energy and spicy lift with complicating saline minerality. The subtly rising, very long, spicy finish suggests a long life ahead for this beauty.

Here too there is enough wood to remark upon surrounding the aromas of violet, lavender and dark pinot fruit that displays a plethora of spice elements. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the more mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that culminate in a tautly muscular yet refined, balanced and beautifully persistent finale. (AM)
