Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2020-2026, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2017

Medium red with ruby tones. Aromas of crushed black cherry and violet. A juicy, savory village wine with ripe cherry, currant and mineral flavors and a nicely integrated oak component. More supple than the village offerings from Fixin and Gevrey, this wine should give relatively early pleasure but hold nicely. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins and very good length.

Blueish crimson. Smooth and sweet. Very charming and very ready. This wine practically winks at you! Not for purists perhaps. (JR)

(from Amélie Berthaut's mother's vineyards; these parcels are situated in Aux Réas and in Au-dessus de la Rivière just below it): Good dark red. Very ripe, almost roasted aromas of musky redcurrant, mocha and game. Then surprisingly energetic and low in fat, but a bit withdrawn, even reduced today; this wine was sulfured just before the 2015 harvest as it finished its malolactic fermentation early. In a leaner style, finishing with a firm tannic spine and good verve.

The 2014 Vosne-Romanée Villages was destemmed and had been sulfured unlike the other cuvées. It has a pure raspberry and cranberry-scented bouquet with fine delineation and focus. The palate is poised with very fine tannin, sorbet fresh and animated with a sensual, vibrant finish. The only thing wrong with this wine is that it is not a premier cru.
