Note di degustazione
Full medium red. Wild aromas of strawberry and smoke plus a touch of meaty reduction. Fat, sweet and creamy in the middle, showing excellent volume for the year but not the verve or thrust of the Vosne villages . The wine's tannins coat the teeth and dry the sides of the tongue. (This wine was aged in 30% new oak, vs. 15% to 20% for the village wines.) My score assumes that this wine will absorb its oak element with time in the cellar.

Light and sweet – easier and fruitier than many of this producer’s 2014s. (JR)
Good medium red. Redcurrant, leather, smoke and tobacco on the nose. Ripe and full in the mouth, showing a restrained sweetness and more red fruit, spice and earth flavors than black fruits; sucrosite builds with time in the glass. Finishes with substantial but rather soft tannins, good length and saline soil tones. This parcel was picked early, noted Charles van Canneyt.
The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru les Murgers was showing a touch of struck match reduction on the nose. It will be interesting to see if that remains in situ post bottling. The palate is sweet and pastille-like on the entry with fleshy red berry fruit infused with brown spice and subtle earthy tones. There is a pleasing structure here, more backbone than the Vougeot Petit Vouget with a slightly brittle finish.
