Note di degustazione
(the Ligniers take possession of this wine in May, and immediately rack it into two-year-old barrels): Healthy dark red-ruby. A basket of red fruits on the nose, along with a suggestion of red licorice and slightly intrusive oakiness. Fat, plush and sweet, showing some very ripe notes and obvious woodiness. Very good for this cuvée but a bit oaky and sweet for this taster. Despite its substantial dusty tannins, this wine is likely to provide early pleasure.

The 2014 Nuits Saint Georges les Didiers Hospice de Nuits comes from the Cuvée Jacques Duret this year (it has not been the case in previous years). It has a pretty bouquet, redcurrant and cranberry fruit, violets coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, beautifully judged acidity, the oak nicely integrated (Laurent prudently racked it into a used barrel after purchase) with a very harmonious, svelte finish. Superb.
