Medium red. High-pitched aromas of red fruits, spices and orange peel. Penetrating and pungent, with brisk acidity framing the orange zest, plum and mineral flavors. Not a fleshy style but offers very good clarity.

Bright medium red. Red cherry and mint on the nose. The palate conveys a sweet/tart quality, with the red fruit flavors accented by brown spices. Finishes with slightly dry-edged tannins and good length. Still rather bound up from being recently moved.
The 2014 Morey St Denis Clos Solon was showing a little reduction on the nose when I tasted it. The palate is much more indicative with a very pure, fleshy and expressive entry -- vibrant redcurrant and strawberry, quite linear and structured with a saline tang on the finish. This has great potential.
In the middle of the Clos. Pale red. Light and relatively tart. Young, fresh and quite simple, slightly bitter red fruits. Very bracing. (JR)
