Note di degustazione
Moderately saturated medium red. Aromas of red berries and spices convey noteworthy soil complexity. Supple and dry on the palate, with redcurrant and spicy oak flavors leading to a suavely tannic finish. Distinctly saltier than the 2015 version.

(vinified with 30% whole clusters): Bright medium red. Enticing spicy lift to the aromas of redcurrant and red cherry. Juicy and on the lean side, offering good cut and floral perfume along with a complicating saline element. The firm finish shows good spicy persistence.
The 2014 Gevrey\ Chambertin Villages was a little introspective on the nose when I tasted it from barrel, not as open as the Marsannay Villages. The palate is better with succulent blackberry and blueberry notes, with noticeably fine tannin and tension towards the linear finish. This is an understated Gevrey-Chambertin, one I suspect will be charming once in bottle.
