The 2014 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Cras has a rounded, seductive bouquet that is very pure, very Vosne-like with copious red cherries and strawberry fruit just beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, tightly-knitted at first but fanning out nicely towards the finish. I actually think this may surpass the Vosne premier crus with time - superb winemaking here. Do not ignore this 2014 release from Lamarche.
