Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2018-2024, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2017

Moderately saturated medium red. An aroma of raspberry is lifted by a strong floral quality and a note of white pepper. Perfumed, ethereal village wine with lovely acidity and penetration to its raspberry, spice and mineral flavors. Not a fleshy wine but juicy and persistent, finishing with sweet tannins and savory minerality that provokes the palate. I'd be happy to discover this already-delicious wine on a restaurant list.

Quite a rich nose with real drama and drive. Well done Flint for having secured this producer. (JR)

(40% new oak; a blend of four disparate parcels; racked into cuve 12 days before my visit and slated for a January bottling): Bright medium red. Good precision to the aromas of raspberry and sexy high-toned oak. Shows more structure and reserve if less immediate sweetness than the Nuits villages , with raspberry and spice flavors dominating today. Finishes firm and fresh, with ripe tannins and saliva-inducing minerality.

The 2014 Vosne Romanée Village, half in stainless steel and half in new oak, has a clean and precise bouquet, quite floral in style with fine mineral tones filtering through the expressive red fruit. A more elegant and restrained style of wine, this will delight over the next 4-5 years.
