Bright red. Pungent aromas of crushed blackberry, pomegranate and blood orange. Slightly tart on the palate, with urgent black fruit flavors accented by licorice and mint. Just a bit dry-edged but juicy and refreshing.

The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny Village, which is being matured in 20% new oak, has a slightly purer bouquet than the Clos Sorbe '13 at this nascent point, but there does appear to be more volume and florality. The palate is a little gassy at the moment but there is clearly good acidity here and plenty of tart cherry fruit toward the tensile finish. Very fine.
From Les Mombies lieu-dit near the RN74. 80- to 90-year-old vines on quite clayey soil. Very rich and dense on the nose – flattering. Racy and lots of skein and finesse. Polished, elegant. Lighter than most. Very fresh. Even slightly skinny. (JR)
