Good bright, dark red. Reticent aromas of raspberry, dark cherry and smoked meat are lifted by a violet topnote. Fresh, juicy red fruit flavors convey concentration and refinement, with excellent mineral tension contributing to the impression of precision and tautness. Atypically floral and classy for this cru. The Lécheneauts always pick their Pruliers vines early as this fruit ripens quickly. Very stylish, fine-grained wine with suave tannins. Philippe Lécheneaut noted that the estate's vines benefited from especially long hang time between flowering and harvest of about 110 days in 2013.

The 2013 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Pruliers comes across as quite raw today, and not fully formed. Incisive tannins and beams of minerality give the 2013 much of its drive. Next to the Damodes, the Pruliers is distinctly more savory and gravelly in its personality, with notable length and thrust, especially on the finish. I expect the 2013 will take a number of years before it enters the early part of its prime drinking window.
