Note di degustazione
Made exactly like Louvière 2014 – only the terroir (next to Carbonnieux) varies. Richer, broader more complex than the Louviere 2014. Melon and racy. Not quite ready yet and cries out for food. (JR)

The 2014 Couhins-Lurton has a ripe and quite generous bouquet with blackberry, red plum and a touch of Hoi Sin sauce, quite forthright for the vintage and maybe missing a little nuance. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, dry tannin, very foursquare in the mouth and missing some freshness and flesh on the finish. This year, I prefer its white counterpart.
The 2014 Couhins-Lurton is a bold, juicy wine. Herbs, leather, licorice, dried flower and tobacco wrap around a core of dark, expressive fruit. Drink this rustic but pleasing red over the next few years.
The 2014 Couhins-Lurton is loaded with dark jammy fruit, smoke, slate, graphite and raspberry jam. Bold and powerful in style, the 2014 offers good overall balance. Today the tannins are quite imposing, but if they soften the 2014 may merit a higher score in the future. Tasted two times.
