An attractive, elegant, but lightweight effort, the 2000 exhibits a deep plum/ruby color in addition to an earthy nose intermixed with camphor, dried herbs, red currants, and cherries. The tannin is sweet, but there is not much concentration or persistence in the abrupt finish. Anticipated maturity: now-2012.

The estate dates back to 1585 and has been producing wine on the property since the early 17th century. In the 1855 classification the Chateau was awarded Third Growth status.
