The Château Gaby 2014 from Canon-Fronsac AC is a blend of 60% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Cabernet Franc. It has a ripe and rounded, slightly monotone nose with plush red cherries and strawberry scents. It needs to muster a little more complexity during its barrel maturation. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet, candied red fruit mixed with orange zest and spice. It’s overtly modern in style, but clean and pure.
