Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2019-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017

The 2014 Tour Maillet has a tightly knit bouquet, one that is well defined, a mixture of red and black fruit tinged with undergrowth, iodine and tobacco. It is the kind of nose that wants to make a statement. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins and a fine bead of acidity. It builds in the mouth and sashays along towards a satisfying marine-tinged finish that lingers in the mouth. Enjoy over the next dozen or so years.

Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2019-2029, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2017

Wild cherry, tobacco, smoke and leather are some of the signatures in the 2014 Tour Maillet. Bold, powerful and racy, it has enough depth to drink well for a number of years. The Tour Maillet was a bit one-dimensional out of barrel, but it has developed well over the last two years.

A huge, massive wine, the 2014 Tour Maillet (Lagardère) also has enough fruit to make me think it will likely come together during its aging. Smoke, tobacco, cedar, herbs and dark fruit power through to the finish. To be sure, the style is super-intense, extracted and monolithic.
