The 2014 Mazeyres has a vivid and vibrant bouquet with upfront red cherry and crushed strawberry aromas, tinged with orange blossom and peony scents. It feels actually more Saint Emilion in style than Pomerol. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. It is linear and strict unlike the aromatics, a more conservative Pomerol compared to others, though detailed and with appreciable tension on the finish. This is a charming Pomerol that I suspect will develop plenty of joie-de-vivre with time.

The 2014 Mazeyres is a soft, fruity Pomerol that is likely to offer its best drinking sooner rather than later. Sweet red cherry, plum, orange peel, mint and white pepper give the wine its bright topnotes. A silky, succulent finish adds to the near-term appeal. Tasted two times.
The 2014 Mazeyres is a plump, juicy wine with plenty of near term appeal. Succulent red cherries, smoke, licorice and exotic flowers wrap around the silky, open-knit finish. I imagine the 2014 will drink well pretty much right out of the gate.
Mid crimson. Something a little raw on the nose here. Then sweet and mild on the palate. Light and less tannic than many. Definitely simple, easy. A little astringent on the finish. (JR)
