The 2014 La Tour Blanche has a slightly less concentrated bouquet than other vintages, featuring dried honey and wax resin aromas with touches of yellow flowers. The palate is better with a viscous entry, keen line of acidity and attractive purity (for La Tour Blanche) with a more discrete, crepe suzette -tinged finish. Fine.

The 2014 La Tour Blanche has a touch of dried honey and lemon verbena on the nose, just a very light marine influence in the background. The palate is fresh on the entry with tangerine and marmalade, and it is a bit toffee-ish towards the finish, suggesting this should be drunk in the near future. I think better bottles are out there and are more in line with previous positive showings. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.
Tasted blind. Lightish colour. Lots of almonds and almond paste, grip-fix glue (a thick white paste from my school days) and ripe pears. Rich, deep and honeyed, really honeyed on the finish with a touch of barley sugar. Lots of freshness to balance. Silky, viscous and long. (JH)
83% Sémillon, 12% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Muscadelle. Tasted blind. Orange peel and interest and great purity. Lovely stuff! Broad and creamy and dramatic. (JR)
