Sweet floral notes and bright red cherry are pushed forward in the 2014 Marjossse. This pleasant, everyday Bordeaux delivers solid quality for its price range. The 2014 is a touch light, but otherwise, it is a good choice for near-term drinking.

From Pierre Lurton's own estate, the Château Marjosse 2014 has a broad, slightly chocolaty nose that needs just a little more delineation. The palate is balanced with light tannin, pretty earthy black fruit, but missing a little density toward the finish.
Slightly muddy crimson. Lots to savour here – trace of some old Cheval Blanc barrels? The fruit is just a little spindly but it is not totally overwhelmed by the oak. Slightly hard on the end but should make pleasant drinking. Rather tough and dry on the finish. (JR)
