Note di degustazione
Full, deep red. Musky redcurrant, iron and dusty spices on the nose. Suppler and sweeter than the Vosne villages but without quite that wine's cut and precision. The musky red fruit and spice flavors show very good breadth and depth, with the finish revealing serious tongue-dusting tannins. Supported by solid underlying minerality but this wine is surprisingly accessible already.

Muted nose, but some typical burly Vougeot flavours: spicy without the cream of Clos de Vougeot itself. A characterful curiosity, but expensive for what it is. (AH)
Bright healthy red. Ripe aromas of plum, raspberry and licorice are complicated by a whiff of tomato leaf. Plump, saline and sweet, conveying an impression of relatively high pH. Smoky, rocky minerality gives this wine its backbone. Finishes with ripe tannins and a touch of greenness.
The 2013 Vougeot 1er Cru les Petit Vougeot has a slightly leaner bouquet compared to the other crus from Hudelot-Noellat and needs to put on a little more fruit intensity during its maturation. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, a slight balsamic note toward the finish that exerts and insistent grip, a pleasant saltiness appearing on the aftertaste. There is good substance here and great persistence and it may well surpass last year's wine.
