2013 Pouilly Fuisse Clos des Quarts

Pale, bright yellow-gold. Grand cru nose of grapefruit, flowers, rock and spices complicated by sexy hints of honey, truffle and marzipan. Complex fruit salad flavors show lovely precision. Finishes very subtle and long, with a slightly phenolic, strongly rocky character. Conveys an attractive light touch, but still with a lightly honeyed quality typical of this vintage. Merlin and Dominique Lafon purchased this property just before the harvest of 2012, so this is the first vintage they controlled from start to finish.
