Bright red. Spicy red fruit aromas lifted by a note of blood orange. A sappy, penetrating midweight with raspberry and spice flavors turning a little lean toward the back. Finishes with a saline quality and a touch of dryness.
The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny Village, which is matured in 20% new oak, has a very harmonious and quite intense bouquet with pure raspberry and wild strawberry scents unfurling. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin: crisp dark berry fruit with black plum and a dash of black spice on the finish. There is impressive length here for a village cru that is compact but focused.
