Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2017-2024, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2015

Bright cherry-red. Red berry and cherry aromas are complicated by mineral and earth tones. Silky-smooth and broad but weightless on the palate, with its roundness cut by a chalky saline character and harmonious mineral-driven acidity. Red fruit flavors are complicated by spices, herbs and menthol. An unusually classy and complete Mercurey wine with subtle building length and mineral grip, not to mention the atypical concentration of the vintage.

Light crimson. Sweet, ripe cherries on the nose. Rounded but juicy and approachable, fine tannins and some oak showing on the finish. More complex than the Clos des Myglands. (JH)

Light ruby. Fresh and fine – almost Gamay like in build but with the cheek brushing of fine, confident Pinot Noir. Already very charming. Fruity rather than anything more complex. Something slightly more complex than some.. (JR)

Good bright red. Penetrating nose dominated by chalky minerality. At once creamy-sweet and intense, with a medicinal reserve to the cherry and mineral flavors. Really terrific fruit and saline length here. A seriously strong Mercurey wine.
