Note di degustazione
(made from a 1.2-hectare parcel; Vincent makes this wine from the favored rockier part of the vineyard and declassifies the rest into the village Gevrey): Good full red. Aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, red licorice and coffee are complicated by a whiff of animal fur. Suave red fruit and spice flavors show a lovely balance of sweet and salty elements. With ripe balancing acidity, this sappy wine spreads out to saturate the palate and leaves the mouth refreshed on the saline finish.

The 2013 Gevrey Chambertin la Justice is a selection of the best parcels on gravel soils, the rest deselected and blended into the village cru. It has a fragrant perfumed, floral bouquet that gently wafts from the glass: fresh strawberry, Morello cherry and touches of limestone. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity. There is good weight here, fanning out just a little toward the finish with blackberry and raspberry notes, belying the decent structure underneath. This is very fine considering the vineyard and is well worth picking up.
