Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2023-2040, Neal Martin, Apr 2023

The 2012 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru has a mineral-driven, tensile bouquet that gains clarity with aeration. There is outstanding focus with vibrant redcurrant and raspberry scents, taut and energetic. The palate is medium-bodied with disarming poise and precision. It's vibrant and edgy with (again) so much more energy on its effervescent finish. Superb. Drinking perfectly now. Tasted at the Clos de Bèze vertical at La Cobotte.

Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2017-2035, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Apr 2015

The 2012 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru comes from vines planted in 1920 and purchased by Philippe Duroché in 1953. It has killer delineation on the nose–really precise and focused with vibrant, shimmering red and black fruit, hints of black tea in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation and poise, silky smooth in the mouth with an elegant, slightly meaty finish that lingers long and tenderly. Excellent.

The 2012 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze emerges from a parcel planted in 1920, which are the domaine's oldest vines. Nicely layered in the glass, the 2012 presents sweet black cherries, violets, licorice, mint and spices. This is a relatively delicate, mid-weight Bèze with good near-term appeal, but less of the structure and size that is typical of wines from this site.
