Note di degustazione
The 2011 Viré-Clessé (Domaine Emilian Gillet), which comes from vines located slightly higher up the slope than Roally on Oxfordian marn soils, has a complex and slightly resinous bouquet with subtle notes of beeswax, Mirabelle, a slight oxidative note that adds a little frisson. The palate is well-balanced with a smooth and harmonious texture. The acidity is nicely judged, though perhaps I would have preferred a touch more “race” towards the finish. But it is harmonious and has plenty of charm, especially with the dash of white truffle and white pepper furnishing the aftertaste. Lovely stuff!
