Note di degustazione
Tasted at the Comte Liger-Belair vertical at the Château de Vosne. The 2012 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots has a complex bouquet with broody dark berry fruit, hints of iodine and blueberry, and undercurrent of mineralité that comes through on the 2013. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannin. There is still a scintilla of oak to be integrated but that will be soaked up with time since there is impressive substance and drive on the finish. Afford this 8 to 10 years in the cellar. Tasted June 2015.

(15% vendange entier): Deep ruby-red. Thoroughly ripe, slightly wild aromas of cassis, pungent minerality and cocoa powder. Boasts terrific density and juiciness to its black raspberry and spice flavors, along with an impression of weightlessness. Finishes with very suave, broad tannins that coat the sides of the mouth, and lingering saline character to the chewy red berry flavors. The whole-cluster element has given this wine needed energy.
One of the highlights in this range, the 2012 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots boasts tremendous depth, power and intensity. A host of aromas and flavors takes over the senses and never lets up. Dark cherry, cloves, menthol and licorice meld into more exotic overtones of violet, rose petal, mint and tangerine. The finish is simply extraordinary for its total sense of translucency. Simply put, the Suchots is a stunner.
15% whole bunch because it was a bit fat in the past. Doesn’t go to UK but they export to Hong Kong, US and Japan. Very dark crimson. Broad black-fruit aromas. Quite wild and sort of obviously biodynamic. Unformed but promising. Masses there. All vineyard. (JR)
