Punteggio 91-93/100 · Da bere 2023-2034, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2015

Bright, deep red. Brooding aromas of raspberry, coffee and licorice. Sweet and concentrated, offering excellent depth of material but coming across as less pliant today than the Suchots. Finishes long and sweet but the firm tannins shut down the wine's fruit. Dominated by its structure today and in need of patience. But like the Suchots, this appears to be another very successful négociant wine from Jadot in 2013.

The 2013 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru les Beaux Monts has the most understated of the premier cru Vosne aromatics at the moment. This needs a little more coaxing from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and good structure: plenty of grip with a saline tang right on the finish. Opaque at the moment, it will deserve 4-5 years in bottle.

Lustrous bright red. Masses of fruit with real savour and structure. Racy Vosne character in mid intensity register. Correct rather than thrilling. Dry finish for the moment. (JR)
