The 2013 Cote de Nuits Villages le Vaucrain, which is close to Clos de Marechale, has a very fragrant bouquet that is a pleasant surprise for a Cotes de Nuits. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, with plenty of fleshy strawberry fruit with a touch of black pepper on the finish. You'll be hard-pressed to find better value in 2013.
