Note di degustazione
The 2011 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits Monts 1er Cru has a straightforward, tobacco and woodland (tree bark?) scented bouquet that permeates the dark cherry and raspberry fruit. It feels a little “stubborn” at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly sharp tannin on the entry, but there is fine structure in situ. I appreciate the freshness on the classically styled finish that leaves you with a delicate, sous-bois and allspice residue on the aftertaste. Fine. Tasted at Flint Wines Burgundy 2011 tasting.

The 2011 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits Monts is quite pretty and also accessible, even at this early stage. Sweet tobacco, crushed flowers, leather and dried cherries meld together in the glass. The 2011 is soft, open and beautifully resonant on the palate, with wonderful inner perfume and lovely overall balance. Best of all, it should drink nicely with minimum cellaring.
This is an exceptionally spicy wine, partially because of the red and black pinot fruit and partially because of the markedly more discreet wood treatment. There is a lovely minerality to the tautly muscular medium weight flavors that possess good verve and a sophisticated mouth feel, all wrapped in a punchy, clean and cool finish. This is both classy and very stylish. Tasted: Jan 15, 2014. Drink: 2021+
