Lots of bitter cherry fruit and, for the moment, a corset of dry tannins. Very much made for the long term. A bit tight but correct. All reined in for now. (JR)

(50% new oak; the 2011s were racked for the first time in March of 2013 and bottled in July): Bright, fresh, deep red. Spicy black cherry, licorice, chocolate and graphite on the nose. Tactile, saline and juicy on the palate, with enticing peppery lift to the silky dark berry and spice flavors. Classically dry, energetic, firmly tannic and long but not a bit hard.
Organic. Ripe and seductive cherry aroma with the merest hint of chocolate. Firm, dry, chalky tannins. Fresh and very well sustained. More to come. (JH)
(tasted from barrel, not yet racked): Good bright, dark red. Medicinal black cherry, mocha and mint on the nose, accented by herbs and pepper. At once sweet and a bit medicinal on the palate, with roasted red berry and cherry flavors complicated by a hint of chocolate and a peppery nuance. Finishes with substantial, ripe tannins. A bit angular today.
