Note di degustazione
One of the stars of this underrated, irregular vintage, Saint-Prefert's 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Collection Charles Giraud still seems almost youthful, at least from a pristine bottle sourced at the winery. Plummy, cola-scented fruit and spice notes give way to a wine that's full-bodied, richly textured, velvety and still a bit tannic and fresh on the long finish. It's delicious now, and should easily age through 2030.

Opaque ruby. A vibrant spice-accented nose evokes ripe cherry, blackberry, garrigue and white pepper. Tight, focused and light on its feet, with impressive clarity to its flavors of red fruits, minerals and lavender pastille. Youthfully firm tannins add shape and grip to a long, sweet finish.
60% Grenache, 40% Mourvèdre. Mid crimson. Dense and lively with a dry finish and masses of acidity. But a little oak driven and tight. Racy but pinched for now. (JR)
