The 2013 Potensac has a simple nose with earthy red fruit mixed with leather and mocha. The palate is medium-bodied with solid tannins. It's grippy in texture, though the finish feels a bit austere and short. Tasted at Bordeaux Index's 10-Year On tasting.

Ruby colour remains in tact, but on the palate the berry fruit delivery starts underwhelmingly and lives up to promise. Edges of tobacco, earth, marzipan, still in drinking window but on its way down. Harvest October 1 to 15.
The 2013 Potensac has a light, brambly bouquet that, to be honest, needs to show more presence, more sense of purpose. It is a little ephemeral. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, nicely judged acidity, quite harmonious in the mouth even if it does lack substance and drifts towards the dry finish. Enjoy this over the next 4-5 years.
49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. 33% new oak. Richly scented, and showing its oak rather. Very dry tannins – really structural, but not hard. Certainly needs a good amount of time to age though. (RH)
