Note di degustazione
Bright, full red, with a touch of amber. Slightly high-toned scents of blackberry, blueberry, licorice, bitter chocolate, cocoa powder and black pepper. Silky on entry, then super ripe, chocolatey and primary in the middle palate, with powerful black fruit and menthol flavors possessing the inherent sweetness to support the wine's huge, late-arriving tannins, which dust the entire palate. Plenty of density and structure here but this wine is a bit more open-knit today than the Lytton Springs. 14.4% alcohol.

Ridge’s 2012 Proprietary Red Geyserville is a blend of 71% Zinfandel, 19% Carignan, 7% Petite Sirah and the rest Mourvédre and Alicante Bouchet. It exhibits a dark ruby/plum color, loads of berry fruit intermixed with earth, pepper and spice, and good freshness as well as precision. This sensual, spicy 2012 can be consumed over the next 5-6 years.
